Travel Issues and Solutions for Outdoor Photographers

The travel section of my website pertains to aspects of globe-trotting with camera equipment and while in the pursuit of outdoor photography. Some of my sections may cross reference others and not all topics fit neatly within one heading. Some articles could well fall into more than one category.

This section is differentiated by its reference to trip issues such as packing and transporting gear, security of self and gear while on the “road”, and even some ideas for road munchies.

Security topics will include discussions of the Transportation Security Administration(TSA) and security whether by plane, train, automobile, or whatever your mode of transportation happens to be. The same issues of security tend to apply no matter which method you use for your journey. For instance, you can employ the same techniques for security whether you are in an airport or train station.

I will recommend ideas for trip preparation as well as ideas for survival in the field or even in the motel or restaurant…ever hear someone say, “Don’t let the bed bugs bite” or have you heard of the green apple quick step?

These topics are not directly connected to photography, but they are all a part of the outdoor photography experience. Obviously, if you get robbed of your money then your trip is short lived and if someone steals your camera you can’t take pictures. No money, no trip, no pictures; no camera, no pictures.

It pays to be savvy of these aspects of outdoor photography and to be vigilant on the road with respect to the negative ones. All this makes for a more enjoyable trip experience and more importantly increases the odds that you will capture stunning photos.
